I saw this entry on Luxist about cuff links which are also lockets. I don’t wear French cuff shirts, and I don’t have anyone important in my life, but I know that other people do, so for you, I share as a public service.

J. Press is a men’s clothing store along the lines of Brooks Brothers and Jos A. Bank. Unlike those other stores, however, J. Press only has a few retail locations. The closest to me is in downtown D.C., but that’s not all that convenient just to browse around.
J. Press does have a printed catalog, which you can request through their web site, but they are infamous for running out of catalogs about 10 minutes after they print them. Now, however, they have finally made a PDF version of their catalog available. A-Plus!
Speaking of which, I need to do some clothes shopping soon. My wardrobe is getting a bit stale.

I’ve never owned any shirts with French cuffs, and thus never owned any cuff links. I’m thinking that the next time I go shopping for grownup clothes (whenever that might be) I may pick up a couple more suits and maybe..yes..some shirts with French cuffs. I really like the look, but since I’ve never worn it before I suppose I can’t really know if it suits me.
If anyone has any suggestions on good shirts with French style cuffs to buy I’d love reccomendations. Oh, but please brands that are not insanely expensive. No Turnbull and Asser. I already know about them. And I already know I can’t afford that. I’m more of a Van Heusen. Laugh if you must. Then comment please. Thanks.

I would reccomend any readers who like to or have to dress up to get on the Jos A Bank mailing list. Seems like I get a new e-mail discount/promotion from them every week. I know true clothing snobs look down on Jos A Bank as low-end and trendy, but I can’t afford bespoke so it works for me.
